Un artista cui sono legatissimo anche per motivi familiari. C'è una sua canzone in un luogo per me molto importante. Almeno 5-6 dischi per me sono inarrivabili.

Ho paura che anche lui, come Bowie, sapesse di essere alla fine, e volesse congedarsi dal mondo e dai suoi fan nel modo migliore.

Non so voi, ma io, per un attimo, quando è uscito il disco (che non ho ancora ascoltato peraltro, nell'attesa di dedicargli la giusta attenzione), vedendo la copertina ho pensato: "toh, sembra voglia dirci che ormai lui è più di là che di qua".
Più che le recensioni che facevano riferimento all'abbandono, all'aldilà ecc (chè si pensa sempre, come è successo per Bowie, "è una vita che parla di morte") mi aveva proprio colpito l'immagine.
Ovviamente l'avevo intesa in senso più filosofico, come il classico sguardo disincantato dell'artista ormai anziano che osserva il mondo dal di fuori, quasi fosse già in un altra dimensione. E in fondo si può dire che il senso rimane quello e la morte, ancora, solo un piccolo accidente. Addio ad un altro gigante. |

Ma "Songs" è uno fra i pochi 10 e lode della mia vita che non mi sognerò mai di ridimensionare (come "Astral Weeks", "Rock Bottom" e pochissimi altri), ripreso in mano ieri causa commozione, mi ha strappato un sorriso.
Fra l'altro, Dylan a parte, se c'era un "nobel per la letteratura" in pectore nel mondo del rock, questi era Leonard. |

beh dai la sua bella vita l'ha vissuta, si è pure trombato un sacco di donne bellissime ( storico quando disse che nei suoi pellegrinaggi mistici si era accostato anche a scientology, "ma solo perchè c'erano tante belle figliole"), rimarrà nei secoli come un modello inarrivabile di cantastorie
chissà se adesso che si trova nel famoso "leonard cohen afterworld" non trovi la joplin che lo sgrida per aver rivelato urbi et orbi che gli fece un servizietto al chelsea hotel  |
